The Disruptor Fund

for Educators and Schools

“One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws”

- Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The Disruptor Fund for Educators and Schools exists to provide financial assistance to K-12 educators in the U.S. who face disciplinary actions such as termination or fines as a result of violating mandates at the local, state, and federal levels to remove social justice-, diversity-, and equity-focused curriculum and practices from schools.

Additionally, it serves the purpose of creating a pool of discretionary funds for K-12 schools and districts to utilize in direct service of students in the event of Title I or IDEA grant funding being withheld in response to school staff upholding principles relating to social justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Through a combination of direct donations from individuals, strategic redistribution of wealth in the form of grants and other no-strings-attached funding sources, and proceeds from the sale of goods and services, Pedagogy of Resistance seeks to embolden teachers to continue to stand for justice in the face of repressive attempts to not only rewrite history, but to create a present that upends decades of progress toward a more just and inclusive reality for all people.

The current administration’s rhetoric and subsequent executive actions threaten to enact both symbolic and literal violence against marginalized people under the guise of patriotism. But we are not powerless. We will pool our knowledge and resources in order to care for one another as we fight. We will fight until we win.
